Mike Rizzo is an editor and filmmaker who studied at The School of Visual Arts. He created the Bay Rizz comedy-satire web series with his brother Jay Liquori. Rizzo would lampoon unsuspecting locals and interview the community on important trending topics. The NY Daily News called him & his crew the “Borats of Brooklyn”.
This received great local buzz and various news outlets spotlighted the work. These films were showcased in film festivals all over the country, along with a plethora of music videos and other short films that he edited. In 2014 his film Some Guys Are Bigger Than Others won best comedy at the New York Downtown Film Fest.
Currently Rizzo is a commercial editor at Mackcut in NYC. He edits TV commercials for clients such as Snickers, Little Caesars, Priceline, Klondike Bar, Dunkin, Shiner, Bud Light, Mountain Dew and more, specializing in comedy dialogue.
Most notably he earned recognition on editing the teasers and web film for the Bud Light “Up For Whatever” Super Bowl campaign in 2014. He has worked with well known directors like Jeff Tremaine (Jackass, Bad Grandpa), Dan Powell (Inside Amy Schumer, The Break with Michelle Wolf), and all the top agencies.
In 2020 Rizzo edited a feature Give or Take, starring Cheri Oteri (SNL), Norbert Leo Butz (Bloodline), that took home 8 wins across the festival market. In 2024 he cut the Super Bowl campaign for Opendoor, which pushed the boundaries for creativity, showing the first ever selling of a home live during halftime.
When not in the edit bay, Rizzo continues to work with his lifelong friend Bonz, to create comedies and films like they did when they were kids.
